Hey I bought the Platinum edition. So far I only installed the first disc wich was Modern Air Combat. Aside from having issues with Runtime errors. I had a few annoyances that are driving me nuts. :joystick:

#1: I'm using a keyboard and a stable flight is very frustrating. It's not a bug but, more like an adjustment to favor keys rather than a joysick. Im constantly having to counteract every pitch I make. Can I solve this

#2: How do I setup a mission in the editor so that I can warm engines then take off to complete my mission.? I like the idea of scrambling aircraft like in a surprise attack. It seems to only give me the option to start "Very Low" for example.

#3:How do I give commands to my wingman ?..is that possible ?...Thanks for all help.

This would be better in this forum. Flaming Cliffs 2 uses a different game engine. If you're just getting started, I don't think it's really worthwhile bothering with / learning LOMAC - it's an old product and not that many people still fly it. You only need to have it installed in order to install Flaming Cliffs 2 - once you've got FC2 installed you can uninstall LOMAC.

I never got into LOMAC pre-FC2 so I can't really help much, but I'll try anyway. For #1, I think you'll have a very very hard time flying with keyboard. You'll probably want to make use of the autopilot to get stable flight. The very nature of aircraft is that you constantly need to make small adjustments as flight parameters change.

For #2, I don't know. In the FC2 mission editor you can select to start on the ramp (which is engines off), on the runway (engines on), or flying at any altitude and airspeed.

For #3, I think the backslash key -- \ -- opens the comms menu. It does in FC2 as well. Under the "Doc" directory where you installed Lock On you'll find the manual and some key references.

Yeah thanks for the help alot of that worked. I figured alot of it on my own last night as well.I will install FC2 but I wanted to get famalier with the game in general. I like for it to become second nature before I even plan on taking this online. lol

There are some similarities but a lot has changed - user interface, missile performance, radar modes, some of the aircraft flight models have been tweaked quite a bit, etc. So a lot of techniques you learn in LOMAC may cease to work when you do get around to FC2, which might be frustrating.
