There are few issues with the current mission editor that result in major problems with current ED titles (Black Shark, FC2). ME offers many possibilities of creating varied and complex missions, however with all the bells and whistles mission creation process is becoming too complex and even more time consuming. This results in lack of campaigns and single missions. In FC2 I went through all the missions and campaigns and there are nearly none created by the user community. Compare this to Il-2 where I have some 300 hundred campaigns on my disc alone and some of them have more than 300 missions to fly. ME in DCS/FC should be more automated, place random appereance sliders atop of triggers, generate mission briefing screens as flight plan, loadout automatically, automate unit responses atop of triggers. So anyone could create some basic mission fairly quickly and later use the triggers to tweak it. I think that the new automatic mission generator is a good step forward, but a dynamic campaign generator would be the best possible adition to the simulator.

There were a whole bunch of requests made on the DCS BS forums with regard to the ME. Some of those requests have been addressed from what I see with regard to triggers and actions. However, there are a whole bunch, including the all important satellite view that haven't. Like anything, I guess this ME will evolve over time with future DCS releases. I just wish it would evolve a little quicker.

A huge leap forward with the a10c, wether or not the ME has kept pace ... we shall see. I just hope it takes less time to build missions than it does with BS.

I am also strongly encouraging the devs that they implement a dynamic campaign for the next platform (AH-64 ?).

Perhaps also a solution might be that the next product after A-10 contains only the framework/campaign engine itself with a somewhat limited content and the community creates a full blown campaign if the necessary tools are provided.

Any game/simulation, which has not a dynamic campaign, does not stay for a long time on my harddisc.

Perhaps some people remember here Red Storm Rising. It was a nuclear sub simulator, developed in 1988, originally for the C64!!. It has still the best atmosphere in any modern sub simulator and the major reason is its beautiful dynamic campaign engine! I am still playing that superb simulation.

But I appreciate that there will be mission generator for the A-10C!
