uzipaz Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Hi everyone, I am a beginner in this flight sim... I just learned the tutorials and begin to fly the f15c in instant fly option... the problem is that I successfully lock on a target using the 9m sidewinder using the boresight mode described in the traning session for f15c dogfight... now whenever I press spacebar.. guns are always fired... I even checked the weapons section in cockpit.. I can notice the 9M sidewinder box checked, I have a lock on the target.. and now as i press spacebar... guns are always fired.. using all the default settings.. using the 'd' key to change weapons but no use... I even tried the training mission of f15c dogfight and 9m sidewinder... I watched the whole training mission carefully and in the end i took control on the aircraft and now got a lock on a practice target with all the settings unchanged by the instructor... I press spacebar and BAM again guns are fired instead of the missile... even though 9m sidewinder is seleted in the aircraft... am i missing something or making a mistake? please help me out...
Rambler91 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 In order to fire a missile (and other weapons except cannon, such as bombs , rockets etc), you have to hold Right Alt and press spacebar at the same time.. It's time consuming, but it takes a little practice.. nomdeplume Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 In addition to the separate "fire" and "weapons release" buttons on US aircraft, also be aware that missile firing has a noticeable delay during which you need to keep the weapons release button down. Trips up many new users, who just press and release the button and wonder why nothing happened.
