HUD decides to go out on me during my final turn to runway ugh. I was tired, it being 4am. So I keep drifting on my final approach staring at the gauges, very mesmerizing when your tired heh. That was my first offical flight. The flight was a scenic hour flight. It is 8 long boring minutes, so if ya got time, or just enjoy watching other people fly :)

A bit shallow on your approach. Trying coming in a bit steeper. Nice work for your first flight with instrument failure though.

You have VASIS use them helps if you not a real pilot, did the HSI working ?

A real pilot see on visual approach if he is right on the approach, i fly always visual since FS2004,FSX,Lock ON, IL-2 and outer sim Space Shuttle and Apollo in Orbiter.

And i am ex real pilot.

The HSI did not match the runway heading.

The HUD is not a primary flight instrument.

First of all in real live we select flaps first notch 90° of the runway on Downwind (start stop watch until 45 second check positions) 45° behind the runway gear down also.

Time 1 min elapse turn base then finel.

Finel Flaps full.

[if you fly on downwind you can check also VASI to use as a referenc if you see 1 white 3 red then turn from downind to base but maintain 1000 feet AGL then on base you can descend]

a good pilot is always in training

Are their MLF lights related to a HUD failure?

On HSI don't think it was working. OR like you said off course hehe. The CDI went like that after I lost the HUD. Also lost something else, have to go back and look at the track to remember. Whatever way the course arrow went the CDI stayed with it. On the flaps, think I am bugged then, that is far as it will go for me. Using the keyboard or the bind on my flight controller.

That's good to know:)

Wonder if I should of hit the HARS button come to think of it now. Since it is a back-up gyro system for EGI.

I didn't notice any, when I was panning around the cockpit.
