tykell Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Award to the silliest question on the forum goes to.... I was curious to test the modeling of the GAU-8's recoil while the A-10 is stationary just to fool around. Anyone know how to override the weapons safeties while on the ground?
Revelation Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Nope, but the recoil is enough to alter your pitch in air, under trim and Autopilot and manual correction - so I assume it's pretty intense. That is before SAS kicks in. Win 10 Pro 64Bit | 49" UWHD AOC 5120x1440p | AMD 5900x | 64Gb DDR4 | RX 6900XT
tykell Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 I already noticed that while in flight :) Due to the fact that the recoil is enough to slow down the A-10 while firing, I've always been curious to see what that kind of force could do to a non-moving Hog
GGTharos Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 It's about as powerful as a single engine at full power. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Eddie Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Anyone know how to override the weapons safeties while on the ground? What you'd need to do is pull the weight on wheels circuit breakers (there may be other C/Bs to pull as well, I'm not familiar with the procedure for the hog) then you'd be able to operate every system as you would in the air. This one won't be modelled in the sim however as it's not something pilots have the ability to do, C/Bs such as the WoW and others are normally in the avionics bay/ground maintenance panels and not the cockpit. You could never trust a pilot with such things, they'd only end up hurting themselves or breaking something. 1
