Hey folks, seeing a strange error in my HUD for the first time and unsure of what this means. I've got 6 JAMS onboard and when I point/paint my target and hold TMS FWG LONG to bring the CCRP vertical line (forgot the name, doh) around to my target, it suddenly gives me that error in the HUD, and another one at the bottom of the HUD.

I have dropped JDAMS several of times and have never seen this. Screenshot link below:

Please read the manual "combat employment" pages 499-565. You are doing it wrong. TMS fwd long is to set SPI, not to bring up CCRP.

CCIP INVALID indicates you're below the minimum launch altitude configured for the profile. There are some bugs relating to this, but I think it's likely to be valid given the screenshot (mostly they're around getting that indication at takeoff).

The CDU INPUT ERROR message is displayed when you press one of the OSBs to input some data on a display, and the data in the scratchpad is either invalid (e.g. letters when trying to input an altitude) or missing. You can clear this with TMS Left Short, IIRC.

I concur with Ragtag's suggestion to revise with the manual, as from your description you don't seem to have a good grasp of what you're actually doing in order to employ the JDAMs.

I believe I read that when you're in CCIP mode, and you're pointing at a target that is at your altitide or higher than you are, you'll get that error. From your pic, it looks like your pipper is over the hill/mountain in front of you which will give you that error since the computer can't compute a solution over that target from your current location.

If you're trying to launch JDAMs there's a really good video that takes you step by step through how to do it with setting up mark points for each target. That way you can launch multiple JDAMs in a single pass. I've done it, and the vid is spot on with the instructions.

Also, it pays to RTFM, then play, then RTFM again so that you have some context and actually understand and reference what you're reading about. :)

Good luck.

Thats funny you mention that video because I watched it just after making this post and was able to hit 3/3 of my marked targets using the new flight plan method, very handy.

I havent gotten that CCIP INVALID error again so who knows what was going on there.

I see that when I have screwed up the program for the mk-82 and such. or my fav is when I am doing gun runs and drop below min alt set in the programs for the free fall bombs. I have not seen the error while I am using LGB or jdam.
