Jesse Lacey Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 I grew up near Bradley Airport in CT, I grew up around those A-10s because the my father was a Marine in Vietnam, after which he joined the Guard and was in vehicle maintenance. The airbase is across the street, we used to go over there all the time when I was little, it was pre 9-11 so security was a joke at the time, he used to let me sit in the cockpit as long as I didn't play with buttons. The pilots there were awesome, they took us for a ride in the Huey's a few times when they did practice flights. It was a really awesome time, so I love that I can use the same markings and paint that they used on those A-10s. I think the best part was for my father tbh, he had a love hate relationship with the Huey, he loved to hear the thump thump thump of them flying over, but after being in 3 crash landings in Vietnam, was not all that keen on being inside them, but at the same time, I think the memories good and bad kind of outweighed the fact of crash landing in them. After 9-11 they were much more strict, we were still allowed on base, but they weren't so keen on letting me sit in the A-10s anymore. But then again, the air museum around the corner used to let you sit in the decommissioned A-10c they had.
Jesse Lacey Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 (edited) I wish they had this one, it was very limited, but they also flew these out of Bradley Airbase. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:A-10As_118th_TFS_CT_ANG_in_flight_1979.JPEG Edited August 4, 2014 by Jesse Lacey
bad-andy Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 I've taken screenshots of the current beta 2 paint schemes for DCS A-10C and assembled an online gallery so you can see what they look like before picking one. Beta 2 Updates & Fictional Skins: http://picasaweb.google.com/kylania/Beta2DCSA10CPaintSchemes# Beta 3 Updates: http://picasaweb.google.com/kylania/Beta3DCSA10CPaintSchemes# In order to use one in a mission of yours follow these instructions. I was thinking of a gallery for existing skins and decided to search before starting one. Wow! nice work. This will be very helpful.
