JaseGill Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Hi guys, I finally took the plunge and bought some Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals to go with my TM Warthog. Plugged them in last night and had a fool about to see how well they work. I'm pretty happy apart from one slight problem. They seem to twitch around especially at the limits of the pedal movement (75% plus at a guess). This is as seen in the A10C Axis Tuner. I've added some Dead-zone to the centre position as they were too sensitive for me but I'm sure over time I'll get use to them (my last set were TM Elites so I guess its down to learning the kit). I also had to invert the axis on both brake pedals as they defaulted to full on, not full off when at the off position. Again no major snags but a surprise all the same. Has anyone else seen this behaviour from these pedals? Thanks, J. ESzczesniak Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 In short, yes! I have a number of Saitek pieces of hardware for flight simulation and am slowling phasing some out. They all experience this "twitchin"--it seems that Saitek uses some pretty cheap pots and there is a lot of noise. They're pedals and X-52 also have a lot of center slop. I have their yoke and throttle quadrants and they experience the same issues, but it doesn't present an issue flying heavy airliners that are more stable and don't respond to these sub-second spikes. My X-52 is heading for a junk heap very quickly though. Unfortunately I don't know how to fix it other than just replacing the pots.
JaseGill Posted November 5, 2010 Author Posted November 5, 2010 Thanks, have you tried any other pots or know of any modders who have. These are brand new and I was hoping for better. I may well have to stump up for the Combat Pro's or see if TM are going to do anything to go with the Hog maybe... J.
