SimFreak Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 Performance reduction due to vehicle sounds. I noticed that due to ground vehicle sounds, my system looses at least 10 fps. Simple test, I start Su25T instant action mission and switch to vehicle view, frame rate shown is in 50s, then I pause game and I gain extra 10 fps. I quit mission, in options turn off sounds and replay same mission and view to same vehicle: frame rate stays same regardless if I pause game or not. Now my problem with this is why do I need those sounds in the first place? They reduce performance of my computer and they are unrealistic. Heck, even when I fly Cessna152 in real life and pass over freeway/roads at low altitude (less then 100 ft), I do not hear any sounds but my own engine. ED, please allow users to turn off vehicle sounds. If that cannot be done, which files do I need to delete so my system stop playing them? Thanks. Kula66 Posted June 2, 2005 Posted June 2, 2005 Try editing the sound.cfg file and remove some entries ... worked for me! Remember to take a backup first :)
