Other way around. TiR 5 is an all around improvement in resolution, clutter rejection, overall performance.

I have the track clip pro- but I do not use it because my behind-the-head headphones/mic are not compatible. I'm sure it works better than the hat clip, but I would have preferred that it be wireless w/ a battery. Those 3 itty bitty LED's could not possibly consume much power. A decent LiO battery should last for many months if not over a year.

In my specific case- the wire for the clip and the wire for my mic would go in 2 different directions. I was never able to get my mic to work in the back of my case. Don't know why. So it's plugged in out front. If your 2 wires connect at about the same place- you could easily braid them together I reckon..

I think it's worth it.

I 'hummed' and 'haaad' for a whole year before taking the plunge and upgrading and I can tell you IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE. Put it this way, using the normal track clip on the TIR5 gives you better smoothness then the trackclip PRO did on the TIR4. The trackclip PRO on the TIR5 is silky smooth!

In TIR4 I had to have the smoothing at 40-50 to stop jitters. Now I have it at 10. Much faster and accurate.

And you can sell your TIR4 for about £70 on eBay to fund 50% of the upgrade.
