mooshim Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 (edited) It's a strange and probably simple issue. I have a logitech extreme 3D I have a column in the options gui screen. I have always been confused about whether to leave default keys in the GUI as is and then configure the buttons on the hotas--OUTSIDE of the sim... I'm having huge trouble getting my noobie head around Hat-switch, DMS, boot switch, TMS cursor, trim etc. etc. ( I don't have a throttle). I was just considering configuring pov to up/down/left/right And--in the GUI--configuring trim, cursor slew, etc... to combinations of ctrl+/alt+/Shift+ etc. Just to test whether the sim was "seeing" my stick. I just configured POV and assumed it would respond --without modifiers...that is I assumed it would be pitch up/down bank L/R...etc. --No response.... Just the views changed --as if the stick isn't being recognized somehow. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a profile file I should delete in order to start anew? MANY THANKS for any advice.:( Edited December 19, 2010 by mooshim [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Win7 | Intel Core 2 Quad | Q8400 @ 2.66GHz | 2.67 GHz 3.37GB of RAM 60gig Samsung SSD| GTX 570 "Operation: Bull by the Horns" "Bull Run 2.0"
mooshim Posted December 19, 2010 Author Posted December 19, 2010 BTW... Logitech profiler is "pointing" to the exe file, but does not initiate. --rather I must start it from the desktop icon. --not sure if that is any clue. WarriorX Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Are you running the Logitech profiler app as Administrator? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Is that you John Wayne?.......Is this me?" mooshim Posted December 19, 2010 Author Posted December 19, 2010 rgr that. I'm trying a work around that is just using the GUI Ctrl+ for TMS Shift + Slew Alt + for trim...etc. Four buttons on the base are for DMS up,down, left, right. --not sure if this is going to make it more awkward for me or less. I appreciate advice with someone who has been down this road before...and want to avoid re-inventing the wheel. (to mix a metaphor). ~Thnx [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Win7 | Intel Core 2 Quad | Q8400 @ 2.66GHz | 2.67 GHz 3.37GB of RAM 60gig Samsung SSD| GTX 570 "Operation: Bull by the Horns" "Bull Run 2.0"
