igiboy99 Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) Hi, Recently I bought Logitech G9X gaming mouse and now I have problem starting FC2. Every time i try to launch FC2 I have an error "Launcher.exe stopped working, Windows is checking for a solution...". As soon as I unplug the mouse and use any other "regular" mouse game runs normally. G9X comes with SetPoint software for various profiles. I tried closing the software, using different USB ports, reinstalling the game, reactivating the game... nothing helps. For some reason FC2 doesn't like my mouse. Any ideas what is the problem? Thanks. Edit: I'm running WIN 7 64bit Edited January 1, 2011 by igiboy99
Konovalov Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Very strange. I had been experiencing major problems with my FC2 install where I could launch the game no problem into the menu screen. Then when I launch a reply, mission or quickstart it would go back to desktop and a "launcher.exe has stopped responding" message would pop up. I would click on cancel and it would still go into game but I was having all sorts of problems with bullets and bombs foating (suspended) from where they were dropped or fired and other graphical anomolies which rendered FC2 unplayable. Bottom line the only thing that fixed it for me was a re-format of my hard drive. So right now I am re-installing a couple of bits of software at a time and then testing FC2 and DCS Blackshark to make sure the problem hasn't popped up. At this stage I am using my Logitech MX Revolution mouse but without the Setpoint software which I haven't got around to re-installing. igiboy99 Posted January 1, 2011 Author Posted January 1, 2011 Same thing happens if I try to run DCS Black Shark. I have to unplug my mouse to start the game, otherwise launcher.exe crashes.
Konovalov Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 I guess then the easy workaround is to use a cheap mouse just for FC2 and DCS Blackshark. I can't see that being a problem since the mouse only realy is used in the menu screens. It's a strange one. :noexpression: Intel i7-8700K | Asus Maximus X Formula | Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR4 3200MHz | Gainward Phoenix GTX1070 GLH | Samsung 960 EVO NVMe 1 x 250GB OS & 1 x 500GB Games | Corsair RM750x 750W | Corsair Carbide Air 540| Win10 | Dell 27" 1440p 60Hz | Custom water loop: CPU EK-Supremacy EVO, GPU EK-GTX JetStream - Acetal+Nickel & Backplate, Radiator EK-Coolstream PE 360, Pump & Res EK-XRES 140 Revo D5, Fans 3 x EK-Vardar 120mm & 2 x Corsair ML140 140mm

So I can't blame the mouse or the game, must be something Windows related and how it handles two game controllers. Anyway, the quick solution is like you suggested: use cheap mouse when I want to play FC2.
