RussianKnights Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Hi Guys, One more question. I have a graphics card ASUS EAH 4870. In DCS: A-10C I have 15 - 25 FPS. This month I buy ASUS EAH 5850, with this graphics card I have more FPS? Chipset HD 5850 from 4000 is better in that it supports DX 11 and has four times the stream processors. I will have at least about 15 to 20 more FPS? Thank you for your response. Sorry for my bad English. Motherboard: ASUS Rog STRIX Z390E GAMING Processor: Intel i9-9900K (without OC) RAM: DDR4 Kingstone 32GB, 3133MHz, CL15 Graphics Card: ASUS Rog Strix RTX2080S OC Joy: Saitek X56 PRO + Pedals TrackIR: 5PRO + TrackClipPro OS: Windows 10 PRO x64 bit My DCS dreams: MiG-23MLA, MiG-29S, MiG-31, Su-17M4, Su-24, Su-25, Su-27, Mirage F1, Tornado IDS, Mil Mi-2, Mil Mi-24P and new maps: Central Europe (1970 - 1990), Vietnam (1960 - 1980), Afghanistan, Cuba, Kaliningrad and more new 3d AI models :)
Kuky Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Support for DirectX 11 won't help in LockOn and DCS as they are still DirectX 9, it won't be a big improvement going from 4870 to 5850 I think, better check some reviews to be sure what's the difference in performance between the two. Ehmm Damn...I do not know what to upgrade? Unless there will be no differense between HD 4870 and HD 5850, I dont know :( My computer was composed recently and I dont want to upgrade my hardware with each new DCS series. . In MP flying I have 25 - 30 FPS. . I run the first mission in the first campaign, I had 11 - 17 FPS - UNPLAYABLE! Which computer is necessary to play DCS A-10C in higher details? Silent Warrior Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Hm... Out of curiosity: What resolution are you playing at? If taking it down a notch (e.g. from 1280x1024 to 1024x768 ) boosts FPS noticably, it might be a good idea to upgrade, but you might want to go farther than the 5850. It's not my money, though. Try the resolution thing and report.

Since EAH 5850 did not differ significantly from EAH 4870 I decided to EAH 6950. :) 1 Motherboard: ASUS Rog STRIX Z390E GAMING Processor: Intel i9-9900K (without OC) RAM: DDR4 Kingstone 32GB, 3133MHz, CL15 Graphics Card: ASUS Rog Strix RTX2080S OC Joy: Saitek X56 PRO + Pedals TrackIR: 5PRO + TrackClipPro OS: Windows 10 PRO x64 bit My DCS dreams: MiG-23MLA, MiG-29S, MiG-31, Su-17M4, Su-24, Su-25, Su-27, Mirage F1, Tornado IDS, Mil Mi-2, Mil Mi-24P and new maps: Central Europe (1970 - 1990), Vietnam (1960 - 1980), Afghanistan, Cuba, Kaliningrad and more new 3d AI models :)
