:helpsmilie: 8 buttons on one of my new Cougar MFDs just suddenly went dead...has anyone here had this issue and/or any experience with Thrustmaster Tech Support? Just sent them an email through their website but thought I recall hearing bad things about TM tech support. Their US phone number just went to a recording (despite being in the listed business hours).

oh dear!! I'm reading a lot of these type of posts lately. As I own both the MFD and the Warthog I do not get a fuzzy warm feeling about TM at this stage of the game. Thankfully my hardware is holding up thus far.

If something breaks though, shipping it back will be VERY expensive for me.

With the price of ammunition these days do not expect a warning shot.

Deephouse, can you do me a favor, look on the bottom of your Cougar MFD that went bad and tell me what the Version Number is?

I heard Version 1 devices had problems like you describe that forced TM to revise the Cougar MFD's and put out Version 2 devices.

This is an issue, especially with some of the earlier units. I had the buttons on the bottom row all stop working after a few hours of use :(.

Could you do me the same favour as i ordered it today, so i would want to tell to my retailer not to order the version 1 if a version 2 is on the way

Thanks

I took and look there is no external serial, model, or version # of any sort that I could find. Unfortunately, I don't have the packaging anymore, so can't pull any info from that either. I bought them from costcentral.com in November.

The version number is on a white sticker on the bottom of the base.

If neither of your Cougar MFD's have this required white sticker, I would call up TM and let them know that you got 2 MFD's from Costcentral that had the stickers removed.

Yep, the white stickers must have been removed. Hmmm.

Well, turns out they are Version 2...was looking incorrectly on the back of the MFD itself, not the bases (which I never used and left in the box since I mounted them on an LCD display).

TM support did respond back to me about a week later, waiting now for their response to it being Version 2 MFDs, not 1's.

Does anybody know where they sell V2's? Preferably in the Netherlands, but importing them would also be an option. Because I have just received a new set which were still V1. Thanks!
