Hi,

I'm building a new pit and need to raise the height of the stick but keep the baseplate in the same postion. I know you can take the stick off the plate. I need to raise the height of the stick by about 3". I thought I would need a tube (of some sort) the same diameter as the bottom of the stick (approx 4 - 3/8) and 3" high. I need to be able to attach the stick on one end and the baseplate at the other. I thought maybe a block of wood cut to shape and drilled.

Can anyone tell me if they have already mounted their stick and how they did it?

Thanks for your help...

If you can work the wood to the right shape that would be fine. It uses metric m4 bolts that you can get to fit under the baseplate and through the wood back on to the bottom of the stick

I think the thread posted above was not what you were trying to do as that was lenthening the handle.

For mine, I am just welding two flanges on to some thin wall RHS to get it to the correct height and bolting to the floor of the pit.

Hi Metalnwood,

Yes you are right the link above was not what I was trying to do - but I thank sov13t anyway. I don't wish to sound dumb but what is RHS? Would you be able to post a pic? I don't have welding gear but I could bolt it.

Thanks

Helo, I dont have a picture as I am out of the steel plate to make the top and bottom, places around here don't open unti the 10th.

RHS is rectangular hollow section. In this case its about 60mmx30mmx1.5mm. Its strong enough and small enough to not be bumping the inside of my legs.

I wil just weld some plate on to the top with a round profile and bolt pattern drilled and on the bottom another plate which I will put some sort of quick release so I can take it out of the pit in case I want to do some racing.

I just did it now, not painted and sorry about the blurry picture. It lookds goon on the camera until you see it on the pc.

it bas a base ~ 100mmx100mm and is ~310mm high or 12.2" for the yanks.

It bolts to my pit and 4 bolts come from underneath the top plate in to the stick.
