Hi developpers.

 

3DSM7 was released and with it the new tool for game developpers. They implemented Normal Mapping method. Basicly you model a very high poly count model with all pssible details. You then do a low poly model. You use your high poly model to render it to texture.

Then you apply a Normal mapping modifier to your low poly model and you select a previously rendered texture (the high poly rendered to texture).

And here you are with a high amount of details on a very very very low poly model. Normal mapping is casting shadows out of texture. It uses a low poly just like a squeleton.
