Orao Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Hi developpers. 3DSM7 was released and with it the new tool for game developpers. They implemented Normal Mapping method. Basicly you model a very high poly count model with all pssible details. You then do a low poly model. You use your high poly model to render it to texture. Then you apply a Normal mapping modifier to your low poly model and you select a previously rendered texture (the high poly rendered to texture). And here you are with a high amount of details on a very very very low poly model. Normal mapping is casting shadows out of texture. It uses a low poly just like a squeleton. Here is a free tutorial on what I wrote above : http://www.3d-palace.com/video.php?vid=72 You only have to make a free subscription to download it.
