fitness88 Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 (edited) I installed [run as administrator] TacView 0.95b file version 0.9.5.2, it installed successfully. When I start the program it opens along with the program's 'about' window, then my dual screens go black for 10 seconds then the screens go normal. I receive a system warning that my graphics stopped working and is now fixed. After clicking off the 'about' window another window pops up and says the program has stopped running and will be shut down. This happens each time I run TacView. When you are running Tacview, ATI driver think your computer is doing office work (typically *NOT* 3D game rendering). So it slows down your GPU/RAM speed to reduce power consumption. However there is a bug in ATI drivers related to this very specific condition: The driver slows down too much your graphic card so it crashes when Tacview tries to display 3D stuff. This is a bug from ATI so I cannot do anything to fix it. However, some users have found a way to fix it by hand. To keep it simple: They manually fix the graphic card profile so it does not slow down too much its clock when it is running desktop applications. Please have a look at the following thread which discuss about this issue: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/276896-15-radeon-5750-display-driver-sto pped-responding#t2052807 This is a risky operation, you can "break" something if you make a mistake. Also note that discussed frequencies can be different for your graphic card. So If you are not comfortable with this type of manipulation, do not hesitate to ask to a friend to help you to do this. Please, let me know if this help you to fix this issue. Best regards, Vyrtuoz Edited January 16, 2011 by fitness88 received new information
