DocSigma Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Is there a way i'm missing in the ME to see UTM coords instead of L/L? When you mouse over the map for instance. Also, what is more common for a request for CAS from the ground or from a FAC: Coordinates in L/L or UTM? Thanks. DocSigma Posted January 14, 2011 Author Posted January 14, 2011 Thanks for the link MT. The one I was using had a few disclaimers as to its inaccuracy converting coordinates in areas outside of North America. Morphine Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Here's another converter as well: http://www.dmap.co.uk/ll2tm.htm Just make sure you use the WGS84 database and for both converters be sure to note and communicate the UTM grid zone (37T or 38T) as the area of operations spans both.
Speed Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I donno why the game calls it UTM on the CDU, but it is actually MGRS. UTM is a different, but similar system. Anyone know why it is called UTM on the CDU when it is actually MGRS? Anyway, I point this out because if you use a converter, then (at least the converters I found) you must select between UTM and MGRS... Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility.
