stormrider Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Hi guys, I've been away from flight sims since LB2 and F15, so I'm a little bit off with these modern sims. I recently bought a new computer, the new macbook pro 2.66 and tried some modern games, like arma2. I was really surprised of how smooth it ran so I decided to try my way back into sims and bought also a CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle. Plugged the fighterstick directly into a USB port and all the other peripherals (keyboard, mouse, SB Codemeter dongle, TIR and CH Pro Throttle) into a USB 7port powered hub connected to the remaining usb port...Its a shame MBP only get 2 usb ports, but well, it works. A few days ago I decided to try the DCS A-10C, downloaded and then bought the license, installed and ran. At 1920x1080 it runs smoothly to my surprise, that's all looking good. Then I decided to try the Hotas system but something wierd is happening. I've already calibrated it more times than I can count. Last night I used to calibrate and then ingame, after first dive, re calibrate again. So I decided to plug it in directly into a USB Port instead of the Hub, no more discalibration but the throttle which remains in the usb hub never showed this problem tho. If that seems as if the problem was solved there, no, I'm getting a wierd behavior still while using the fighterstick. When trying the first training mission that one is able to fly, the taxing and basic maneuvers, just after take off, when trying to fly level, the plane is always going up. I checked the gear up, no airbrakes i reckon and no flaps, tho looking from outside, there is a small tip up coming out from them outside flaps. Is this normal? So I checked the calibration again, and it was okay, and tried again: Same behavior. I then decided to try to control it via keyboard, and it flown stabilized only until I moved the stick again. Is it a normal behavior? Banned by cunts.
RodBorza Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Welcome tho the A-10! Your pre- "flight computer assisted control" friend. I think that what you are missing is trimming. The A-10 is a very different beast from the F-15, so you'll have to manually trim the aircraft for pitch and roll. Every change on speed and even assimetrical loadout will need a little bit of trim. So, look at the HOTAS section of controls option and assign it to one of your controls. Maybe this helps. This is an amazing sim! 'Nuff said!:pilotfly: YouTube: SloppyDog
stormrider Posted February 16, 2011 Author Posted February 16, 2011 Brasileiro? Que coincidencia, valeu pela resposta tao rapida, escrevo em ingles agora pra que todos entendam. I've tried using the keyboard assigned trimming control, but it seems that as soon as I moved the stick again, bam, nose up continually 1 Banned by cunts.
Le0kong Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Make sure to turn off the force feedback in the options. And see if in the the Roll and Pitch axis there's only the CH assigned and nothing else.
