In my humble opinion, cruising in the A-10 while listening to troops on the ground under SERIOUS ground fire really puts me in the cockpit. This is a really very interesting recording (From the Vietnam War), of US troops taking heavy ground fire from the enemy. I'm guessing A-10 pilots often here troops on the ground taking fire.

Do have a listen !

It really helps me with immersion.

Thanks ! ;)

Surely, you've seen this one already? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szX45PdUOmo I thought everyone had.

:wallbash: I got stressed out just by watching that video. My hats off to those two pilots. They literally had their triggers down less than a second after getting cleared hot. Outstanding and serious nerves of steel there.

You should see me trying to keep SA even with all the time in the world. :D

[Edit]

By the way did you see the flare smoke trails when 2 came in for the first time? They were so close back to back the smoke was hardly faded from 1's flares, haha.

How To Fix Your X-52's Rudder!

This is really neat, thanks for sharing. I'm always for anything that creates immersion and builds an emotional attachment to what I'm doing in the sim (I'll even take music, for what it's worth.)

How exactly would I listen to something like this in the sim? Like, download it, turn it into a .ogg, attach it to a radio station, then tune the radio to the appropriate frequency?

Or do you just have YouTube running in the background?

I just have it running in the background. It might actually effect FPS some. Nothing dramatic. It just makes it easier to switch between parts.

It's actually really interesting to follow events as they happen during the battle !

OK, I figured... I used to use a music player to run a playlist of selected tunes in Black Shark, but the FPS hit was just too great for my tastes. I'll probably just go without until they either reinstate radio stations, or I save up enough to buy a new video card.
