JCook Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I really need to get a simple mission built in the mission editor. I've been reading thru the mission manual - but my reading time is very limited. Can anyone give a simple - like 10 step procedure for a basic mission? I can probably add to it over time as I find time to learn more. I would just like to have my A10 and a wingman sitting on the tarmac at an airport so I can do the full startup, taxi, takeoff, pattern work, landing and shutdown. From there I'd like to add a tanker track somewhere that I can fly to and learn to refuel. I've downloaded some user mission files when I had the Beta - some of their folders appear empty in the sim. So I need to get something built that I can add to as I go. Thanks
EtherealN Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 (edited) That should be pretty simple - just select mission editor, select new, standard coalitions should work I suppose, and then click the airplane symbol to place yourself at the airfield. Then, with your flight selected, at the top right you can add another plane to the flight, which would be your wingman. Ensure plane 1 in the flight has skill level set to "player". (Or "client" for multiplayer.) Click edit at the bottom of the right panel and change the first waypoint to "start on runway", then switch back to add and place new waypoints as needed.NavAndPattern.miz Edited February 27, 2011 by EtherealN [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
JCook Posted February 28, 2011 Author Posted February 28, 2011 I've created a simple mission or at least the beginnings of one... I've got a tanker in a track - is there a way to make it fly in an oval racetrack? I discovered I had to set my A10 start time to be first otherwise I would have to wait hours until it became visible. My A10 was set for 1730 and the tanker defaulted to 1200 - that would have been a long wait. I have my A10 set as "player" however when entering the sim it defaults to an external view of the tanker or the container ship. How can I spawn into the A10 cockpit?
EtherealN Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Please attach the miz file for a look at the spawn issue. About the tanker - unsure. I've never actually placed one myself.
