Pyroflash Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Anyone watching the install of the new module? If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

Case Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Yep, pretty cool, isn't it? Last Sunday both ISS and Discovery passed through the sky from where I live and with my binoculars I could clearly make out both spacecraft while they were a few 100 feet apart. They docked about an hour later. There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
Pyroflash Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 (edited) Yeah, being able to watch the spacecraft in orbit with your own eyes is a pretty amazing thing. I got to watch it happen a little while back at my summer house, breathtaking to say the least. Though it did take a little while to get my telescope on target. Makes me wish I had one of those digital ones where you can just tell it where to look and it will go :P. The only thing I regret about it is that it will be one of the last missions the space shuttle program will ever embark on. Ever since I was interested in flying, it has always been a personal dream of mine to make commander of one of those missions. Now with the whole space program being all but scrapped, it looks like I will have to find something else to push myself towards.
