JCook Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 When placing an aircraft I noticed for its properties a field named BORT# and COMM. What are these two fields referring to?
nomdeplume Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 BORT# is the number painted on the tail/side of the aircraft. This field is labeled as SIDE# in some locales, I think. COMM is the frequency the group sends its radio messages to. For player-controlled flights this is the frequency for sending commands to wingmen. For AI-only flights, it's the frequency they will transmit information about what they're doing on (passing waypoint X, engaging target, ...). You can also set the frequency using one of the 'perform command' selections in the advanced waypoint options, so you can have the AI switch to a different frequency at some point in its flight. 1
