Lian Li aluminum mid tower case

Intel I7 960 3.2 gighz

ASUS P6X58D-E

1 or 2 Sapphire 10031-2SR Radeon HD 6970 2gig PCIE 2.1 w/ Eyefinity

Memory ?? need some help here

1000 watt PS

24 inch touchscreen ASUS

3 23 inch widescreen monitors

Win 7 Ultimate

Please make suggestions if a different component would yield better performance. I would consider using 2 graphics cards if necessary. Budget is $2500. Thanks for any help.

THrow away the 960 and go for either an i5 2500K or i7 2600K. The former is probably the better value. For mobo you'd then go something like ASUS P67 PRO (I forget the exact model number). I am not sufficiently well versed in red-team graphics to comment, but I am personally very happy with my 560Ti, and up-budget 570's and 580's appear to have been doing well. I am not convinced about the merits of running double cards, but at a triple-monitor setup I suppose it might be warranted.

No point at all going for Windows 7 Ultimate, or even Professional, really. They bog your system down with a bunch of extra features that you are almost guaranteed to not ever use. (Pro might be warranted for higher RAM allowances, but such a RAM count would be overkill anyway.)

Hi,

I would go with one graphics card - no noticeable performance improvement afaik (could be wrong on this considering you've got multi monitor)! Spend the saved money on 8gb of ddr3, 1600mhz would be great!

What do you have in the way of kit such as Track IR, HOTAS/Rudder pedals etc? That is a great PC and without the right gear you wont get as much enjoyment out of it, as is possible!

Intel i7 6700k, Asus GTX1070, 16gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz, CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Rudder Pedals, Samsung Evo 850 SSD @ 500GB * 2, TrackIR 5 and 27" monitor running at 2560 * 1440, Windows 10.

Plan on using TM WH,Saitek pedals, trackIR. I'm goin' all out on this one. I've been out of the sim thing for about 10 years. Thought i would see whats out there about 2-3 weeks ago. DCS A10C blew me away! It's time!

Thanks for the help. I'll keep tweaking the list of components and post back here. Will be ready to move forward very soon. I know a good IT guy at work who will help assemble.

Took a trip over to Fry's and came back with revised specs for PC build.

MSI P67A-GD65 B3 S1155

Intel Ci5 2500K

8 gig DDR3 1600 Mhz

MSI R6970 2 Gig graphics card(will go 2 if needed)

1000 watt PS

Corsair 600T case

WD 1TB Black HD

24x dvdrw

ASUS 24" touchscreen monitor

$100 to put it together

Came in at $1561 w/o monitor

Am I correct in using the 6970 w/ Eyefinity for DCS A10?

Thanks for any comments!

Do you live in the states?

That build seems a bit expensive for what you get.

Intel i7-950 @stock, Asus P6X58D-E, 3x4GB Corsair Vengeance, Asus GTX 580, Corsair 120GB SSD, Corsair HX 750W PSU
