Mud Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 I'd like to know if it's possible to adjust zoom normal to have a view a bit further back. I use zoom in slow to help spot targets at times, and then quickly use zoom normal on my egress to have better situational awareness again. It would be awesome to have this zoom normal adjustable so I don't have to zoom out slow to get to my prefered level of zoom again. wickedfastball Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 That sets the camera FOV limits. If you want to adjust the "reset" zoom value, edit Config/View/SnapViewsDefault.lua. Look for Snap[11][13]["viewAngle"]. The stock value is 75.0. Higher FOV values equate to zooming out. Change the value to what you like. You have to restart the sim to see the changed values. You can read the comments at the top of the file to get insight into what the 11 and 13 mean if you are so inclined. This assumes you have UseDefaultSnapViews = true in Config/View/View.lua. If you have it set otherwise you probably wouldn't be asking this question in the first place... And to reiterate: back up before you change anything (or go all software dev geek and use a version control system ;)). 1
hassata Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 (edited) The average of the FOV limits will be the the 'reset' zoom or the default zoom upon entering cockpit. WFB's method works as well. Edit: To save time, you could exit mission, Alt Tab, adjust, then hit refly to see changes. Edited March 14, 2011 by hassata [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
