penguin273888 Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 :helpsmilie::helpsmilie::helpsmilie: i recently purchased DCS A-10C flight simulator online. i downlod files the three ".bin" files and the "setup.exe" file and put them all into the same folder and clicked on the setup file, which came up named "setup (3)" and when i clicked on it i got a message that said "Please insert disk one and click OK If the files on this disk can be found in a folder other than the one displayed below, enter the correct path or click Browse." so i selected the folder that had all 4 files- the three ".bin" files and the "setup.exe" file- and clicked "OK" after i received a meesage saying "Error The file "setup (3)-1.bin" could not be located in "C:\Users\brett\Desktop\DCS A-10C FLight Simulator" Please insert the correct disk or select another folder." "DCS A-10C Flight Simulator" is the name of the folder i have all 4 files in and "Brett" is my computer's name
SmokeyTheLung Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Check that the names of the files exactly match those on EDs website (the (3) in there dosen't sound right to me) You probably have existing files on your comp with those names, so windows is adding a "(1),(2)..."to the files names. It should work if you rename the files System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer
penguin273888 Posted March 18, 2011 Author Posted March 18, 2011 nope nothin :( i renamed it to "setup.exe" and the same error message came up but instead of saying "Error The file "setup (3)-1.bin" could not be located in "C:\Users\brett\Desktop\DCS A-10C FLight Simulator" Please insert the correct disk or select another folder. it says "Error The file "setup.exe-1.bin" could not be located in "C:\Users\brett\Desktop\DCS A-10C FLight Simulator" Please insert the correct disk or select another folder."
SmokeyTheLung Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 setup (3)-1.bin" Check the website to see that the file names match, ^^^ that is not the correct name for any of the .bin files you should be using. Welcome to the forums BTW System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer
EtherealN Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Sounds like a corrupt download, indeed. Have you verified the md5 checksums on the files? If you haven't, this is the checksum utility I personally use: http://www.pc-tools.net/win32/md5sums/ That way you can find out which file is corrupt and download that one only. Also, Smkey is correct - the Setup (3)-1.bn is an incorrect name; it has been autorenamed by your operating system and the installer will be unable to parse it. Rename it to setup-1.bin. Distiler Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 nope nothin :( i renamed it to "setup.exe" and the same error message came up but instead of saying "Error The file "setup (3)-1.bin" could not be located in "C:\Users\brett\Desktop\DCS A-10C FLight Simulator" Please insert the correct disk or select another folder. it says "Error The file "setup.exe-1.bin" could not be located in "C:\Users\brett\Desktop\DCS A-10C FLight Simulator" Please insert the correct disk or select another folder." setup (3)-1.bin is not the correct name. You probably downloaded it 3 times and windows renamed it each time. Just rename it to setup-1.bin. You need those, with those exact names: setup.exe setup-1.bin setup-2.bin setup-3.bin AMD Ryzen 1400 // 16 GB DDR4 2933Mhz // Nvidia 1060 6GB // W10 64bit // Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2
