Skkuda Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Hi...Id like to know if its possible to assign two functions in one button. Id like to make use of the short period held/long period held button function but I dont know if it is possible to configure a button that way and how to do that:helpsmilie: [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic56197_1.gif[/sIGPIC] AMD Phenom IIx4 955 Black Edition@3.2Ghz Asus M4A785TD-M EVO 6Ghz DDR3 1033 NVidia Geforce GTX 570 hd1280 Mb GDDR5
159th_Falcon Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 You mean the China Hat Forward and China Hat Forward long command for example? You can just assign China Hat Forward in the games options menu, then if you hold it for about 1 second the game automatically recognizes it as China Hat Forward Long. Now, if you set in the options menu the pinky switch as modifier you can assign two different command to the same button. For example Button C = China Hat Forward Button C + Pinkie = China Hat Aft (holding the button for about 1 second will change it again to the long command automatically) Hope ya can understand my rant and that it was helpful. You also might search for SFJackbauers profile. Helped me lots in setting up my X52PRO. ~S~ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The keeper of all mathematical knowledge and the oracle of flight modeling.:)
Skkuda Posted March 19, 2011 Author Posted March 19, 2011 Thanks 159th_Falcon....I can understand you perfectly and Im going to try it. The problem is that I was trying to configure my controller through the saitek default software program instead from the DCS game options.... Thanks! EtherealN Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Skkuda, nothing wrong with using the profiler, really. Just assign whatever you need to whichever keyboard command corresponds in the control config. That's what I did until I got my hogstick. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
EtherealN Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 Using the China Hat example, and assuming use of the profiler software: Start game, enter Options, Select Controls, select A-10C Sim and HOTAS. You'll see that default key for China Hat Forward is "V". Just map that keyboard key in your profiler. The saitek driver will cause that mapped button/hat/key to look like it's just you pressing the V key on the keyboard. Thus holding it down will automatically cause the China Hat Forward Long with no extra thought needed to the programming of your controller. Also, using the default keyboard keys like this in your mapping will mean that you will pretty much never need to re-map your controls. If you get a new computer - just install the simulator and copy your profile file from the old machine, and you'll have everything set without touching the Controls screen. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
Skkuda Posted March 19, 2011 Author Posted March 19, 2011 (edited) Hello Ethereal.... quoting you China Hat Forward is "V". Just map that keyboard key in your profiler. The saitek driver will cause that mapped button/hat/key to look like it's just you pressing the V key on the keyboard.Everything ok with this.....but Thus holding it down will automatically cause the China Hat Forward LongHere is the problem....I do keep the button pressed! and it does not change. example.... if I assign "H" I can cycle mfd with a simple (Short) press but It doesnt change to SOI if I keep it pressed (Long) Also Im now using a combination of DCS Game options editor and saitek profile edition......because im having hard times to use the ministick from the game. In the game editor it works as a cursor mouse so I edit some bands from the saitek editor and it works as Target Designator Cursor Thanks for the answer!
