AKA_Clutter Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 All, I am trying to learn how to do toss bombing. I have seen one video on YouTube and have tried that method. Listed below is the basic procedure that I have followed with the exception that I have set a separate profile for the CBU-97 with Pairs selected and CCRP as the mode of release. One problem that I am having is that as make my low level run-in to target (100-200 feet) I get the "Invalid fusing" Message. If I then come at the target from a more normal altitude (100 + feet) I can drop using the same profile. Can someone help? Thanks, Clutter 1. Set steerpoint to SPI 2. Bring up TGP 3. Set TGP Latch on if desired 4. Make TGP SOI 5. Slave TGP to SPI 6. Select target in TGP, set to POINT mode 7. Go to DMS 8. Select bombs and set to drop in pairs (set profile)[video used CBU-87] 9. Select CCRP mode 10. Stay low 11. Align TVV with SPI 12. Pull up While keeping weapon aligned with Azimuth steering line ---------------- AKA_Clutter Win 10 Pro, Intel i7 12700k @4.6 GHz, EVGA RTX 3080 FTW, Ultra 64 GB G.Skill DDR4 3600 RAM, Acer 27" flat screen, HP Reverb G2, TM Warthog HOTAS with Virpil warBRD base, MFG Rudder Pedals, Virpil TCS Rotor Base with AH-64Dcollective, TrackIR 5 Pro w/Vector Expansion, PointCTRL.
RogueRunner Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 The A10 does not have enough speed to make toss bombing quite that effective. You would prob get more standoff distance by bombing from altitude than trying to lobb bombs from down low. With the price of ammunition these days do not expect a warning shot.
RodBorza Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 I think it is related to the Escape Maneuver for the release of the bombs. I believe you have to set it to climb. In the Beta Manual (don't know the page for the release version ), on page 529, it is shown the DSMS page for General Purpose and Cluster Bombs; there you can change as required. I can't test it myself, 'cause I'm away from my beloved DCS:A-10 at the moment ; but it is the first thing that comes to mind regarding this problem. This is an amazing sim!
