Pikey Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 In a loose moment of map googling I had a look at Vaziani airbase to actually describe to a work mate how i took a wrong turn and ended up stuck in the mud. :) Lo and behold, the satellite picture of Vaziani shows a pretty deserted airbase, i'm no military satellite viewer but it looks like the land time forgot (I understand it was bombed but the taxiways appear disrupted and vegetation grown). Whilst searching for any signs of life or aircraft I noticed what can only be described as a "parade" in the middle of the runway. If im guessing again, i'll try for 200 odd people in a square around some vehicles on the runway. I wondered what they were doing with that airbase now since it looks like they are more active at Marneuli to the south (is that a squadron of Su-25's? in the NE?). Has anyone got any guesses or do they know? Also...looks like im not going to use that airbase for DCS: A10 missions in the future for fear of disrupting any secret meetings of the Georgian Air Force or getting stuck in the mud again!
