Hi to you all. I have this problem with night landings.. When I reach certain distance from my airfield, some sort of light mist appears over the beginning of the landing strip and it seems to have a huge hit on my FPS. It disappears when I'm just about to hit the runway. When I get close, it seems like it's a light from my airplane or something like that but with a strange shape which keeps changing..

I have an Nvidia 6800GT@Ultra clocks, 77.72 drivers. Anyone encountered something similar?

i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg.

DISCLAIMER: My posts are still absolutely useless. Just finding excuses not to learn the F-14 (HB's Swansong?).

Ok, noone answered so I'll try to give more details. As I said already, it's Nvidia 6800GT, 1600*1200, 4xAA, 8*AF. Textures and Scenes are on high (although when I look at settings while on this mission map, it says scenes medium?), Effects High, Lights Weapons, Shadows Active Planar, Civ Traffic On, Haze Advanced..

The stuttering gets so hard, it is impossible to land.. And it all goes faster than normal (approach speed).. On this event, even the whole cockpit became lighted, but when I go to external view, the plane isn't lighted..

I installed the ground units fix and seasons textures and 77.72 drivers (latest).. I don't recall having this problem before all this (but I mostly flew in daytime so I can't say for sure).

This is really frustrating so any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I also have a card that uses 6800GT GPU (see my sig) and have never seen a problem like that? I use ForceWare 71.84 drivers.

The position at the start of the runway and what you said about it coming on when you get to a certain distance from the runway makes me think it is the two trucks with the searchlights.

Here is a screenie of a night landing in Lockon v1.02 (with my Radeon 9800Pro). Looking out the left side of the cockpit you can see one of the trucks and the searchlight beam from it. All the light you can see is from the searchlight trucks, I didn't switch on my landing lights.

I think I read a thread a while ago about FC 1.1 having a problem with this?

Edit - OK I found the thread, ( http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=8849 ) go down to where TekaTeka explains the fix for it. Something about a more recent fix for it.........

Ok, so it's a known problem. I hope I used the old LOD fix so the new one will help. Thanks a lot!
