chirp65 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Hi All, Though I have plenty experience with helicopter sims and flight, the BS is my first 'shoot 'em up' sim. I have been, (and still am), reading and training and reading. Although I have many questions that I'm sure the answers to are in the manuals and forums, I can't find the solution to this: When I'm in the cockpit of the BS and I finished watching one of the Training Videos, I can then press the escape key and take control of the chopper to try what I just watched. But each time I do this the yellow mouse curser moves my POV with each motion of my mouse! I somehow managed to stop it a few times but I really don't know how I did that. Anyway, I can't pick out a switch if I'm constantly chasing after it. Can someone tell me how to get the mouse out of what ever mode it's in when it does that? I also would like to know if that is a 'Slew' mode. I have never, ever used a Slew mode on any sim that offered it because inspite of all the definitions I've read, I don't know what it would really be used for. If it hasn't got to do with realistic flight, I tend to ignore it. Is that what's going on with the mouse trouble I'm having? Thank You

Mar Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 It's left alt + c actually. There's three modes to it, first is cursor moves view, second makes the cursor disappear with the mouse still moving the view, last one just has the cursor without controlling view. chirp65 Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 Thank You guys. I just finshed trying the first suggestion, (the reply from MAR was not there at the time), and that didn't work. Then I tried the MAR suggestion and I got it. Is that mode, (when the mouse moves the view), referred to as 'Slewing' or 'Slew'? As I said, I never understood that in FSX and the only thing I read that folks used it for was moving around 'a-realistically'. But I just finished a "How to target & fire the weapons" training vid and it looks like I'm going to need to use that mode once in a while. Or at least if I do, it will be easier on me. I don't know.
