Hello, I've got a little problem on the 'Navigation' training mission, the problem is a follows: I'm at the part where you are instructed to set an SPI by slewing a cursor in the HUD downward and then pressing HOTAS TMS Up. The cursor itself is slewing fine, though when it comes to a rest it is marked by an X. When I now press TMS Up nothing happens and the instruction does not continue. What am I missing or doing wrong here?

HUD cursor should remain as a square AFAIK. Try keeping your cursor within the area of the HUD display.

I never moved the cursor off the HUD (only moved it down about 5 cm from it's original place under the FPM) and while moving it, it is a square with a dot in the middle, but when it comes to rest it is a crossed out square.

Think I had the same problem. If you are using keyboard to activate HOTAS TMS Up I think I fixed my problem by holding the key combination for a second or two. I believe the proper command is a LONG TMS Up so to replicate I had to do the key sequence for while also. Please note, Im just a nugget and not playing atm, but I do remember feeling your pain and the 'ah ah' moment when I figured it out. Hope this helps.

if you are at ~17000ft over the lowlands prior to the WP ware you are requested to make the HUD SOI then make a SPI in the HUD you have to move the little box in the HUD right down to the base of the lowest part HUD display so it is only just viewable then hold the HOTAS TMS forward for >1sec thus doing a TMS forward (long) keystroke.

I had the same problem just yesterday. :music_whistling:

When the TDC (little box) shows with an X through it that means that the computer can't calculate a point where the TDC direction intersects the ground surface. An obvious example is pointing it at the sky, less obvious is something too far away. Try pointing the TDC at a piece of ground a little closer.

Thanks for the advice and clarification, now I know why it doesn't do what it should do. Here's to my sucess on the next try.
