"DCS Black Shark has stopped working"

Crash file says audio drivers and removing the file in question lets the game start (without sound, naturally)

Unfortunately Asus considers the audio drivers for the D2X as perfect and do not update them often, so I do have the latest build. Having no problem at all with the A10-C sim

I'm not sure where to turn at this point so so if any of you could lend assistance it would be greatly appretiated :)

Asus works off the motherboard controller, if you have a motherboard install disc just load it in and install the drivers for sound, I had no problems with a Rampage III Extreme build once all the drivers for the motherboard were installed.

PS; When I completed my new build about a week ago I tried to bring BS onto my new 64-bit system in Wind 7, I ended up doing a brand new install and it was put into the Program_Filex64 Directory not the Program_Files. Now this may have had something to do with the update or not but its working great there. I did not use any special Sound device programs thgat system 32 require for any of the Sims. Gluck

I'm not using the onboard sound, I have an ASUS Xonar D2X on an ASUS motherboard. Does it suddenly require the realtek drivers after a years use with one game?

Looks like quite the sound card, checked to see what it was. Have you added a add on card lately or updated the VC. Looks like your capturing video and audio on the same system your playing on, and which ASUS motherboard is it. Saw that your Wave was diabled, is it only this Sim or all the time including everything else.

P6X58D-E. No new cards since installation in late february.

Have never captured any audio or video on the computer, nor touched any wave settings so all that should be stock.

Heres what I would do if it was me I'd remove the card and set up the sound off the back panel and see if the BS plays fine with the onboard audio, if it does than also make sure you have the latest patch for Black Shark and check the list of issues to see if ssound was on the list I here they are fixing some ssound for A10c in the next patch. Sounds like a system compatibility to your sound card and maybe some updates you have added. Gluck hope you figure it out.

I know removing the card would work but I'm not really comfortable with shifting around hardware components everytime I want to play a specific sim.

Maybe I can find some 3rd party drivers somewhere.

I still have the problem. Disabling the digi output doesnt work in my case.

Every other Programm is running fine :(

Now waiting for a newer driver or a DSC BS patch... :joystick:

It would be nice if you post lines marked with 'SOUND' from your 'Saved Games\DCS Warthog\Logs\dcs.log'

But the problem only appears on Black Shark.
