159th_Falcon Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 First a note to the admins, im not sure what the exact policy is on advertising, but im only referring to a site listing a bunch of suppliers, not advertising anything i sell myself. Ok, that being said, i was shocked to learn @ my local hobby shop that the prices for switches and buttons are trough the roof, some examples; Toggle switches DPDT 2A 250V comes in around 2.5 euro a piece DPST 3A 250V comes in around 2.3 euro a piece And various tactile switches are 1 euro a piece Now i just bought myself some DPDT 3A 125V ON-OFF-ON toggle switches for a price of less then half a euro including shipping. Tactile switches from the same site start at like 0.05 euro a piece orso. So, what's the downside? Your buying from the supplier directly, meaning only bulk orders. I had to buy 200 switches, but still steaper then buying 30 i needed locally. So if your building a pit, and need a lot of switches it can be worthwile taking a look here; http://www.aliexpress.com/home2.html Please note it can be a bit slow at times, so be patient. Link directly to toggle switches; http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale/wholesale-toggle-switches.html?SearchText=toggle%2Bswitches&CatId=0&SortType=price_asc&SortType=y and to tactile switches; http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale/wholesale-tactile-switch.html?SearchText=tactile%2Bswitch&CatId=0&SortType=price_asc&SortType=y Just see that you get 3000 of those for just 70 dollar (2 cents a piece), free shipping. You do the math for yourself if its worth it or not. Happy building guys ~S~ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The keeper of all mathematical knowledge and the oracle of flight modeling.:)
