ual1161 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 First of all,I bought A10c thru steam and my version shows 1.1.0.0. , I downloaded the first patch in the list which is 1.1.0.6 and it told me I need 1.1.0.5 but the rest of the patches are nowhere to be found. Also, in cockpit my hud readings are very small, so when I lean in with track IR5 they stay real small and are way out in front of the aircraft. How do I correct these problems? Ray
EtherealN Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Actually, it shows 1.1.0, not 1.1.0.0. Steam version is 1.1.0.7. .8 should be deployed soon (Valve middle-man) and auto-updated through normal Steam means. Regarding HUD readings, a HUD is collimated to infinity. "Leaning close" will not make anything look bigger. Real-world function. (Basically, the HUD isn't a "display", but rather a very intricate optical setup that ensures a very specific display vis a vis the outside world irregardless of head position.) hassata Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Rather than lean in, trying zooming in as needed. Its to keys at the top of the keypad (/ and * ?). [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ual1161 Posted June 6, 2011 Author Posted June 6, 2011 Thanks for the rplies Thanks for the help.Yes I know how a HUD operates as I am an aviation electrician on atack helos in the ARMY, but with track IR5 the hud is displaying way out in front of the aircraft not on the HUD repeater. Maybe I should have explained my problem in more depth. Ray 1
bluepilot76 Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 Hi Ray, I use TIR5 too, annoyingly just after unpausing at the start the view zooms out a bit, I always zoom in a bit until the HUD Is comfortable to read. You might need to shuffle around a bit so that it doesn't get hidden by bits of the HUD framework. It is the slow zoom buttons you need to use. Or I think you can press num pad enter for a the default zoom which is quite good I have noticed that if I lean right over you can tell that the HUD symbology is not actually on the HUD glass, I guess some things r impractical to simulate. I thought the cockpit felt odd to begin with, I was always mssing with the zoom, and moving my head around, after a while it feels totally natural though.
