Hi

I got some damage where the HUD IAS and ALT were knockked out (CADC damage?) anyway my mechanical ASI was still functioning, and my mechanical altimeter was ok once I set it PNEU. Is there a backup method of getting this info onto the HUD? I went into the maintenance menu and was able to get up groundspeed, but that wasnt really what I wanted. I also set hud altitude info to radar with the switch, I didnt notice this info coming up either, but was perhaps distracted as on the approach by the time I was in radalt range..

Also if you go from EGI to HARS you lose the ADI and HUD ladder. I would have thought the ADI could operate without EGI, hasnt it got an internal gyroscope? Is there a way of getting it operational without EGI?

I probably need to read more, or get hit less.

Hi GGTharos, ok thanks for that. I was a bit confused because when you startup, the gyros align on HARS mode, before selecting EGI. I thought my EGI was damaged (it probably was, most of the caution lights were on) and thought if I went back to HARS I might get the gyros back but it didnt work. I just read somewhere about a HARS emergency alignment or something so maybe I need to do that, or maybe my gyro was damaged. WHatever, Im off to do some reading.
