gizmo Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Hi All, For those of you who are using Creative Sound cards, i got mine adjusted to the sound i think would be close to the real jet. Did checks on you tube and to what i know when it flew at the Airshow here in Singapore last year.Hope you like it. It's not perfect but i think could improve. Your feedback and thoughts please. Regards, Gizmo If you want Peace, be prepared to fight for it ! :pilotfly:
Svend_Dellepude Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Boosting all frequenciesis not a good idea unles you turn down the master volume. The downside is the risk of an overloaded output channel which sounds pretty bad when you are dealing with a digital enviroment. gizmo Posted June 20, 2011 Author Posted June 20, 2011 Hi Svend Delepude, I agree with you however i normally do not use the master volume high as it will crackle. Are you using the Creative sound card yourself? If you want Peace, be prepared to fight for it ! :pilotfly:
Svend_Dellepude Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Auzentechs edition but i guess its the same chip. The comment was from a sound guy's (me) point of view. Anyway, the result of the eq depends very much on your speakers/headphones, so your eq on my system will sound different than it does on your system. gizmo Posted June 20, 2011 Author Posted June 20, 2011 Svend Dellepude, May i ask how are Auzentechs sound card compared to the Creative? Planning to get a new sound card and a new set of speakers. What would you recommend basing on your expertise. If you want Peace, be prepared to fight for it ! :pilotfly:
Svend_Dellepude Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 (edited) I dont really know much about the different soundcards for gaming. I bought the auzentech because it was stated somewhere that it was supposed to have slightly DA converters than the creative family. Otherwise its the same software (from your pic) and the same chip. Since i'm not into surround sound, yet! I dont know if it matters if the chip is called this or that. With descent converters and practicaly no latency, which i think is becomming the standard these days i cant tell if you should buy one or the other. Speakers on the other hand is a totally different story. I assume we are talking pc speakers here. There are a lot of crappy speakers around. I use a headset cus im mostly online with TS when i fly. So depends what you are in to. Logitech make some good speakers. I know the x-230 which is a very good budget speaker. The sound is better than more expensive ones. They sound pretty linear and are good for music. I know there is a surround edition, x-530. (just checked) Consider buying some headphones. For a 200-250$ you will get very far. Beyerdynamic makes some good ones. Sennheisser hd-25 mk II. There is but one thing to do...listen. If you like the sound of it, buy it if you dont....well. If you know how to read the specs of a speaker you will get some of the way, but they will only give you half a truth and say nothing about how the speaker will sound in your home. I know that this way maybe not too helpful, so to clarify. If you dont care about surround and dont actually use the speakers for other things than gaming. Get yourself a couple of good headphones. It will give you so much better sound and eliminate the sound of your girlfriend yelling at you. ;) Edited June 21, 2011 by Svend_Dellepude [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Win10 64, Asus Maximus VIII Formula, i5 6600K, Geforce 980 GTX Ti, 32 GB Ram, Samsung EVO SSD.
