Ok here it is, my first official mission for the community. Please tell me how you like it and any constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!

Background:

You are returning from a lone patrol, you're low on fuel and approaching final for landing. Your mission in this area has been to provide relief supplies, food, etc to a local village supporting our cause. Rebel insurgents have been patiently waiting to ambush these plans, and today looks to be the day.

Mission Overview:

Juliet 6-4 was the Blackhawk providing supplies, and has been shot down. The chopper crashed somewhere north of the village, and the pilot was heading for the hills north of the city. Rebels are gathering a search party from other towns, consisting of technicals and a command vehicle. The rebel leader is currently awaiting the arrival of the search parties at a key bridge. With the bridge and commander gone, the search parties hopefully have no way to get to the downed pilot. However, once you engage the commander, you are stirring the hornet's nest and expect more forces to join in with the rebels. We are not expecting the rebels to have any air forces but just be aware they may get support from local militias - capturing a downed US airman would do wonders for their morale.

Sandy (Enfield 1-1), a rescue UH-60, is currently at hold point Charlie awaiting your go ahead to proceed in the search and rescue. You must escort Sandy both to and from the downed pilot, of course if you, Sandy, or the pilot are killed your mission has been a failure.

Tips:

You can either stay high, utilizing targeting pod, and standoff weapons or go NOE - Each has advantages and disadvantages.

Adjust your default chaff/flare programs.

Keep your head on a swivel and your eyes open.

:)Like it!

The SA13 that enters the valley at exfiltration is a nice touch......thats not what I said the first time, as it fragged the Sandy ##**//:D My wife overheard me and said "your on that "game" again? "This aint no game and dont talk to me untill I get this Sandy home safe":D

Again it demonstrates what you can do with the minimum of threats, provided they are intelligently ( and realistically) placed.

All I would add, is instead of an Mi-8, use a Hind;) Set to search all targets at any distance up to 8 miles and arm it with whatever you think the single A10 driver can cope with. That way, you must destroy it before it gets the downed pilot and your Sandy, since it will detect them and engage them ruthlessly unless you eliminate it!

Its a challenge to arrive at a mission thats realistic yet rewarding to fly. You can definately create something thats just too difficult to fly realistically, which isnt what we all want.

I cant help thinking that sometimes I could fly these rescue escorts better in the Black Shark! The opportunity to approach slowly, pop up, mark target, pop up and shoot the Vikhr (Вихрь). This one of yours would be a good port over to BS. You could fly in overwatch of the Sandy and never be more than a few hundred feet from him! ( I did a "Mountain Rescue" mission for the Shark......maybe you have seen it?)

Anyway thats BS, this A10 mission is good, and thats my twopenneth ( or two cents worth)

Keep em commin:thumbup:

Awesome! Glad you liked it... Timing is everything on extraction, however that timing is directly related to your ingress timing and when you release Sandy from hold. Tried to strike a good, challenging yet realistic balance
