rico Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Hello... I think im doing something basically wrong.I cant get any contact to existing AWACS (E3...) in my missions.Though i tuned my radios to the right freq and band,no submenu appears pressing F7 (AWACS) in the CommMenu...How to make it right?... Sincerely, Rico
KKR75 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 What I understand from your post is: Say AWACS freq is 124.0 on the VHF/AM radio, as defined by mission briefing. 1. VHF/AM radio is turned on. 2. Freq is adjusted to 124.0 3. HOTAS Mic switch FWD to bring up the VHF/AM comms menu. 4. Select F7 (AWACS) submenu At this point, no options appear? Is this a custom made mission, or a system mission / system campaign?
KKR75 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Then it is definitely a problem with how you setup your AWACS flight to operate, inside the mission editor. As I haven't yet created a custom mission with AWACS, I can't help you further, but that's the area you need to concentrate on (there's probably some actions you must define, for specific waypoints). I suggest you open up a mission that already has AWACS operating properly (say mission Push-1.1.miz from the Georgian Hammer campaign), and take a look at how that object is setup. 1
CEPEGA Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) I had exactly the same problem, but figured out why this happend. I guess you use TrackIR (TrackIR 4 Pro here), because this was the reason for my problems! I solved this problem by remapping the TrackIR F-keys to the numbers wich are above the keys on the keyboard. Then i was able to contact the AWACS. If mapping the TrackIR keys back to the F-keys (TrackIR standart are the F7, F8, F9 and F12 keys), the AWACS (and ground crew of course) don't work again. Hope this will solve your problem too :) Edited July 27, 2011 by CEPEGA Asus Z97-PRO | Intel i7-4790K @ 4.00Ghz | beQuite!
