Unless I am mistaken, that just means that the callsign was never set when the pilot was created in the logbook. It is not immediately apparent the you can just highlight and change where it says New Callsign. I got nothing but references to the mission editor when I googled it, so I had to ask here. The same term referring to more than one thing is always trouble. Cichlidfan is right though. That field doesn't advertise its editability. Thanks for the answers.
