Training Missions Fixed?

Hi All,

 

First post. I've just bought the game and think it's pretty good the most fun I've had with a flight sim for years.

 

 

I've got the 1.1.0.8 version from Steam and am playing through the training missions with the voice over and finding them very useful. But I've encountered several problems/bugs with the Navigation and Landing missions. These tutorials get stuck at points and won't progress, the narrator waits for me to complete an action such as changing the ILS frequency to 110.30 even AFTER I've done it. As a result the mission won't progress any further. It's a bit frustrating.

 

I've noticed the 1.1.0.9 patch has "Fixed training missions." in "Other Changes" in the change log. Does anyone know if this slightly cryptic note addresses this problem? If so I'll download direct from the DCS site and use my Steam key.

I remember have got this problem with older version ( 1.1.07 and 08 ) .

 

I have do again some tutorial, and it seems fixed, i can't exclude one bug or another remain anyway. But should be ok.

 

Anyway, you don't necessary need to download the complete version if you want use the Steam one.

 

Download the patch files for 1.09

In Steam, disable the update for DCS A10, close Steam, launch the patch, and you will get it updated to 1.09.

The patch won't install it says I need to install the 1.1.0.8 patch first. However my game is already patched to 1.1.0.8. So I'm not sure the patch is compatible with the Steam version.

 

Unless anyone has any other ideas I'll continue downloading the full up-to-date game from the DCS website.

Steam should patch automatically.

The patch hasn't been released for Steam yet, and there's no e.t.a.

it have work for me like that ... just disable auto update from Steam and launch the 2 files patch ( you need to put them in a folder ).

 

 

Anyway, for check i have do the ILS Landing training, and all is ok now.

The training missions were fixed for version 1109, but were released earlier on the file exchange and can be downloaded manually here:

Just unpack the archive into you Training\en folder.

 

Also, you can download a new training mission not yet included in the game here:

Download to any folder of your choice and open using the Mission menu or the Mission Editor.

Yep, I followed the instructions listed above but the patch just didn't work. I've now downloaded and installed the up-to-date version of the game directly from the DCS website and all is well.

Thanks for the heads up on the new training mission. I'm finding them very useful, the professional sounding narration just adds to the atmosphere. Personally I find an interactive lesson far more enjoyable than trawling through a 670 page manual! Although it is very well written.
