BananaBob Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Alright, I bought the Lock-On Gold package here in the US, had the bad disk, was sent a serial and that worked for a while, then I took the advice from here and had the replacement FC Disk sent by mail. It came today, I ran a reg cleaner to get rid of all lock-on stuff on my pc, rebooted and installed fresh copy of Lock-On from my old 1.0 disk then installed Flaming Cliffs 1.1. I don't have a serial for the new disk nor does it ask for one, Star Force checks the disk ok and tells me to restart. After restarting I run Flaming Cliffs, it opens and then I hit quick fly to fly the SU25T, it starts to load and at the end of the loading, my system reboots. I tried the above steps 3 times already and same thing over and over? Am I missing something? Thanks, Bob Rivera Problem solved, had Nvidia 73.00 drivers for Pacific Fighters to run without missing textures, tried the new 77.77 drivers and it started fine, now i'm no luck with PF, outch. lol AMD 2500XP OC to 2800XP MSI KT4AV Mobo Nvidia 6800 1GB DDR 333 Ram Audigy 2 ZS 5.1 sound 80GB HD
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 pf is a pain, i just gave up on the lower drivers just to get it to work without missing textures, unless oleg and team and nvidia get there heads together to sort something out then pf remains off of my hardrives til then, cuz noway am i not updating drivers just because 1 game doesnt like new drivers when the majority of games need new drivers....
hornet1a Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Temporary fix for PF You can run PF with the latest drivers (in OpenGl) by forcing it to use 1.0 shaders by editing a line in the "conf.ini" file : Change the 0 to a 1 in the ForceShaders line= ----------------------------------------------- VideoSetupId=17 Water=1 Effects=1 ForceShaders1x=1 ------------------------------------------------------- The water will not look as good as with the 2.0 or 3.0 shaders but you will not have missing textures :) GeForce 6600gt with the 77.77 drivers... Pilotasso Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Its not a bad disk, its only read to check it, not to actualy load stuff. Must be a driver issue or some other software trouble. .
