Ragtop Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Spent the day at the simply awesome Duxford Imperial War Museum today, for the American Air day. Fantastic event, didn't get many pictures but I'll upload them when I get them off the camera tomorrow evening. Spent a long time walking about enjoying all the different exhibits, talking to different USAF members and pilots. One little surprise for you guys was in the Conservation in Action hangar, they had a TV playing our very own Glowing AMRAAM's DCS trailer on loop, and from what I could see, all the 'Take ones' had been taken, so hopefully we'll see some newbies on here from the day! Anyone else happen to be there today? Discuss! 476th vFG Alumni
Jona33 Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 I love Duxford. I'm not far from there (half an hour everytime) It's where I started to really love flying. It's awesome they have Glowing AMRAAM's vid playing. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
Ragtop Posted August 20, 2011 Author Posted August 20, 2011 It was the first time I'd ever been there, I just couldn't comprehend the size of the place. The amount of planes in a single hangar is staggering. 476th vFG Alumni
Jona33 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 I never got the impression it was that big. Base where the first ever spitfire squadron was stationed IIRC. They offer sightseeing trips to Cambridge or just a circuit in a Dehavilland Rapide. Company's called Classic wings or something like that. It's expensive but kind of fun. I love that Rapide. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
