SAM strike + Emergency Landing! And seriously, why did you park your Hog there?!

"Pilot: Ryan-Paulbert

Call Sign: Slink

First time flying into combat last night with the boys from 76th Tankbuster's.

Just for some background info, I'm an extremely new nugget. So excuse the panic stick

and throttle inputs as I'm still not as confident on my flying abilities!

Kylania and Python took me under their wing to learn a few things and next thing you know,

I'm in a sketchy situation due to a SAM and not paying attention.

Changed flight plan back to Kutaisi for an emergency landing. 76th's Kylania and Python talking me in

as I'm trying to land this thing. I've never done an emergency landing before, got my heart racing that's for sure.

Then on final approach I notice a blip on the runway...

Another player parks his Hog (maybe disconnected?) on the runway!!!

But to my avail I narrowly... and I do mean NARROWLY, miss clipping his wing by rudder hard to the left."

I noticed I didn't even bother to extinguish the fire. I honestly don't know why, lol. I guess in my head there was

too much going on for me that something so obvious slipped my mind O_O

Two lessons you didn't mention in the video:

1. Don't fly around under normal circumstances with your speedbrake open, and don't use full speedbrakes on approach, especially with a damaged engine.

2. Don't fly around at low level unless you are trying to avoid a specific radar guided SAM threat. It's just asking for a MANPAD or AAA shot, which is exactly what happened. Try staying above 15000 ft.

Barely missed it!

You did well for someone inexperienced.

And I liked that you pput the lessons learned on your video. It's instructional, as well interesting.
