Joyride Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 The mission editor allows you to play a sound/send message to country, coalition, etc. Any workaround if you only want to send a sound/message to an individual player in a multi-player mission? Thanks for any tips.
Grimes Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 The only viable workaround currently is to just use a couple different countries and assign a client to a country. Sorta wish we had send message over frequency or by group, but what can ya do, except state such and add it to a wishlist. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Joyride Posted September 19, 2011 Author Posted September 19, 2011 Grimes...the "country" workaround might just work...excellent tip, sir. Thanks. Yeah, message to frequency or group would be awesome...probably not hard for ED to add but I'm sure they've got higher priorities. 1
AeroOrange Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Yes indeed! Get international - it affords more options. Win 11 9700k, RTX2080, 32 GB DDR5. Track This! I'm taking donations for a new graphics card!
Joyride Posted September 20, 2011 Author Posted September 20, 2011 Only problem is my A-10's won't have the same skins if I divide a flight up by "country" so that I can send messages to a specific client...I can add the skins I want to my own liveries folder, but others won't be seeing the same skins. Or am I missing something?
Grimes Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Yep, the skins are a downside to doing it that way. Alternatively I suppose it would be possible to edit the countries tied to the game itself. Make a country defined as Player 1, player 2, player 3... and give them each an A-10C that has every possible skin available to it. It might require the mod for players to be able to connect to a game though. At the very least it would require a mod to be installed to edit and create such setup. I guess liveries / textures custom to planes of those countries are out of the question? or just the long way... (edit^ i just saw that was mentioned above... sorry to repeat) Your solution is simple and elegant Grimes - any clues on where that link / config might be located?
