jkanold Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Unable to complete a Split S as the plane goes into a spin or becomes unstable. Same thing happens in high speed turns. Does the team intend to modify any flight dynamics in the next patch? I am a newbie to this sim and love it to death. Wish I had been a beta tester for this one. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Eddie Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 The flight model is fine. It's a PEBKAC issue. You're pulling back on the stick too hard. Simples.
EtherealN Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Do you have a track file of this happening? It is entirely possible that there is nothing to modify since what you are experiencing might be true to reality. You can't just throw a plane around, have to do it right, otherwise you will end up with an assymetric stall or similar issues which can then easily develop into a spin. EtherealN Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Attached is a track where I perform a series of splits - well, pseudo-split and pseudo-cubans, but same thing for this instance. Note how I am "riding" the alpha beeper. At the end of the track, I do it again but yank the stick all the way, and it develops into a departure. All is as it should be.Split-S.trk [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester

EtherealN Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Our pleasure. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions, be they technique or technical. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
kylania Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Also remember that the performance of your plane will vary drastically depending on your load. So you might pull X amount back while empty and have it work just great, but 100% fuel and a full ordnance load and try the same thing and you'll stall out and wobble all over the place.
