A how to guide to breathing new life into old Aces II seat cushions

I have a set of aces ii seat cushions that were worn out and needed help. I found a $20 yoga mat at wal-mart and used one layer for the back and two for bottom. Now these things are so comphy it's like dr scholl's for your backside.

Nice. I have a set as well in great condition... but damn are they uncomfortable. I'd did try replacing the existing material and overstuffing with furniture foam from the craft store but it still hurt after an hour or so. I'll have to go look at the yoga mats.

The mats are perfect. You can either leave in the original green former that goes on top of the foam or take it out and maybe get three layers of mat in the cushion. I sat on it for 3 hours last night without any problems.

 

I told my wife that real pilots would be jealous..lol

This is another option, and if you get the 1" thick for your butt, the price is about the same as the yoga mat. It is good stuff!
