EventHorizon Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 I know this is probably obvious but I cannot figure it out... where is the lever or button for the air speed brake ? Also... when I instruct my wingman to attack ground targets or engage air defenses or do anything else for that matter he does not reply over the radio and simply follows me around. I also cannot get in contact with AWACS or and landing strip. HELP !:helpsmilie:
Lane Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 (edited) On keyboard: - Left Control + B = ( switch afterward ) - Left Shift + B = ( Switch forward ) As i have a doubt what is opening the speedbrake and what is closing them, just try both. If you are using a HOTAS, you can set them in 2 keys ( i use the Key switch T on the base of the X52 ). in the control setting ingame you will find them under / HOTAS > HOTAS Speedbrake switch forward/afterward. They are not "automatic", like gear, so you need to continue press the key for open the speedbrake, and close them.... this allow you to choose the angle of opening and so the effect of the speedbrake. As for the radio.. are you using " easy radio control " ? if not you need set the good frequencies for call them. Wichid Posted September 25, 2011 Posted September 25, 2011 The speed brake is found on the right hand throttle, it's a rocker/slider for the pilots thumb. I don't think you can (or would want to) mouse click it. I've mapped it to the X-52's slider on the throttle which has programmed bands - 0-10% & 90-100% for in and out. I just leave it in the middle otherwise. Yeah as per, Lane - you probably don't have the radios configured, or you are using the wrong radio. Use the UHF generally for your wingmen & flight.
