It will be worth the wait, I use mine almost every day working with pictures and other graphics, make sure all drivers etc are up to date after basic install

Which size Intuos are you using? These specialized items are always over priced in my country so I have to choose wisely.

I use the Intuos 4 Large pen tablet, and I'm saving up for the Extra Large or the wireless Intuos 4 depends on availability and how cheap I can get them. I started off with the medium but it was too small for my needs. I dont know what sort of work you will be using your's for but in this case I think bigger is better. I'm thinking more and more about the wireless as it will be better for me when I'm doing work away from home, but that all depends how busy I am over the next month or so, more jobs = more spare cash. Maybe get the Extra Large from my Wife for Christmas if I ask very nicely lol

I dont know what country you are in so this may affect availability.

I have a small Intous 4 and the 24'' Cintiq HD monitor. The Intous 4 is great but the Cintiq is just perfect. I didnt want to spend the cash on the Cintiq and work ended up getting me and my partner one and if they didn't, now that I have used them. I would of spent the cash.

So I went to a store and stared analytically at the many Wacom tablets behind the loser proof, tinted glass display. Feeling eyes on me, I spun and there she was...Mrs. Cintiq...out of the box and all natural. Feeling an o-face coming, I glided over and as I was about to jized, a pod of dolphins tackled me. Weird.

Anyway, I decided the 6x9 Inous 4 is the proper size. Gonna see if wireless will make life easier.

BrumTx, goodluck with your Chrismas present. My wife encouraged me to get the Cintiq just before she LOLed at my face. :D That thing costs three times as much as our assault moped.

Leafer,

Glad you got the Intous, the Cintiq is nice VERY NICE but for 95% of "normal" people the Intous is as good as we need, I think unless graphics design / animation, is your full time job you'll be happy enough with it. I would suggest a few accessories:

#1 A neoprene cover so the screen does not get scratched

#2 spare nibs or buy the Accessory kit

#3 wide bodied grip

#4 Airbrush grip

#5 Hard case so you can keep safe all your accessories as well as the tablet

#6 Adobe Lightroom 3

#7 Adobe Photoshop (latest version) I had conflicts with earlier versions

I know that add's up to a lot of money but the better product you can put out to your customers will earn you more $$$$$. :):)

Good luck with your Intous, you'll enjoy it. Ohhh and check for updates !!!

PS: Go and buy a long & large cigar that has a hard metal case, they are ideal for keeping nibs safe and in one place, I know you'll lose some very quickly :pilotfly:

I haven't bought one yet. My sister coming to visit from the US, and siad she'll keep an eye out for when they go on sale during the christmas holiday. That way I can spend the difference on proper accessories. And good idea on the cigar box, I would have never thought of that.

In the mean time, I'm learning Maya and Zbrush. I can't wait to start using the tablet with one of these programs, it must be like going from flying with keyboard to Hotas. LOL
