Migow Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 hi , it would be great if jtac can provide coordinate with longitude/latitude in degree or decimal (pilot choice ka 50 )or mgrs (a10) :bounce: with WP marking . member of 06 MHR / FENNEC Mi-24P
WildBillKelsoe Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 that negates the whole point of chopper work. You already have a suspected enemy position, and the recce provided by the wingman is the jtac of A-10 (they both give location and bearing and ultimately, an ABRIS target.) Sometimes targets are way past the mark, but with diligent search, and utilizing the chopper to draw an arc around suspected enemy position, you're in luck.. And for the JTAC to appear, he is in game in the form of a FAC (which tells you when to fire, what to fire at, and post release target assessment).. Besides, having the JTAC for coordinates can be tricky, because he's not in the code of the shark... The best option is to use a swivel head and keep eye outside cockpit. Remember, a chopper pilot always knows where he's going at.. He has the ability to stop in mid air and assess the situation, whereas an A10 pilot can be taken be surprise, and most importantly, cant use terrain elevation like mountain crevices and overhangs, let alone civilian buildings for masking his signature.. But on the other hand, his ability to stop in mid-air can be a brush with death or actual death, because despite all precautions taken, the element of surprise always has a fraction in the equation. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
